An ex-employee of the Arizona Attorney General’s Office pleaded guilty to selling a diamond bracelet that was mistakenly sent to her home.
On Feb. 25, Vanessa Hickman, also known as Vanessa Dailey, pleaded guilty to theft and facilitation to commit trafficking of stolen property, court records show.
On May 31, 2025, the U.S. Postal Service delivered a package to Hickman’s condo, but it was supposed to go to one of her neighbors. Inside the package was reportedly $40,000 worth of jewelry.
Hickman took a Costco diamond bracelet worth $2,400 from the package and sold the bracelet through her Poshmark account before returning the package to postal inspectors, according to court documents. Records on Hickman’s Poshmark account showed that she listed the bracelet for $1,947, but negotiated the price to $750 with a buyer.
Hickman will be placed on mandatory probation and faces up to two years in jail. However, at her sentencing, scheduled for April 1, the judge could give her a suspended sentence, so if Hickman completes all her probation terms, she would not go to jail.
The felony would be on her record while on probation, but there may be an opportunity to have it designated as a misdemeanor after completing probation.
Hickman may have to pay back the money to all parties involved, including at least $750 to the woman she stole from.
