A man is in the hospital with severe injuries after police say he was shot Monday night in the Deer Valley area of north Phoenix.

Phoenix police officers responded to the reported shooting near 27th Avenue and Rose Garden Lane, just northwest of the North Stack I-17/Loop 101 Agua Fria interchange, around 8:45 p.m.

Responding officers found a man who had been shot at least once. He was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to Phoenix Police.

Detectives responded to the scene to find what led to the shooting, but no information is yet available. This is still an active investigation.
