An armed man was shot and killed by a deputy at a gas station in Kingman on Saturday afternoon.

According to the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a Love’s Travel Stop near Interstate 40 and DW Ranch Road after receiving reports of an erratic driver who had damaged a gas pump.
When deputies arrived, they told the suspect he was under arrest. Investigators say the man then pulled out a gun, and a deputy shot him. The man died at the scene.
The suspect has not been publicly identified. Deputies said he had an active arrest warrant out of New Mexico.
No deputies were injured in the shooting. The incident is being investigated by the Kingman Police Department, and the deputy involved has been placed on paid administrative leave.
