A Sun City couple is facing more than a dozen felony charges after police said they caused three dangerous road rage incidents during the past month using weapons like a hammer, a hatchet and bricks.

According to the probable cause statement, the first incident involving Alexander Jordan Black and Arianna Foster was on Feb. 18, around 9:15 a.m., when they were tailgating a man with his 8-year-old daughter inside the car on 83rd Avenue in Glendale.

He pulled into a Walmart parking lot at 83rd Avenue and Union Hills Drive, and the pair followed him. Police said when the victim stopped and asked what the problem was, Foster rolled down the window and spat on him. She then got out and threw a river rock at the car, damaging it.

As the man tried to leave, police say Black got out of a Kia Sorento holding a hammer. Black then reportedly threw a rock, hitting the car’s hood. The victim later said the rock did not hit the windshield because the victim was backing up.

The second incident happened on Feb. 23, around 8 p.m., when the couple followed and tailgated another man as he turned into the same Walmart parking lot on 83rd Avenue.

That’s when court documents said Foster threw two bricks at the man’s car, hitting it once.

The third incident was on Wednesday, around 8 a.m. on Loop 101 near Northern Avenue. Investigators said Black sped up, got in front of another car and slammed on his brakes, causing the other driver to rear-end him. When the two drivers finally pulled over, police said Foster pepper-sprayed the other driver in the face.

While the victim was blinded and retreating, Black allegedly used a hatchet to smash the car’s mirror and door, and a knife to stab the passenger side tires.

The victim told police he believed he was going to die. The pair then took off.

Shortly after that, an “attempt to locate” was sent out by the Arizona Department of Public Safety, and their Sorento was found at the Department of Economic Security office at 91st Avenue and Peoria Avenue in Peoria.

Black and Foster were then taken into custody without any trouble.

When they were arrested, the couple was still wearing the same clothes they had on during the attacks, including a black North Face sweatshirt worn by Foster.

Inside their car, officers could see a red and black hatchet and a bottle of pepper spray sitting right on the passenger seat, court documents said.

Black and Foster face felony charges, including aggravated assault, endangerment and criminal damage.
